Parka Monkeys – Live Band Indie Disco!

In the mid -1990’s a British-based music culture movement took over the charts. It was synonymous for it’s bright, catchy alternative rock anthems which caught the eye of any keen indie music fan.

Britpop captured a moment in music history that could never be repeated, in the years 1993-1997.

However, in recent months and in the months to follow it’s experiencing something of a renaissance.

• Suede released their ninth studio album Autofiction last year and went on tour with the Manic Street Preachers.
• Both Blur and Pulp are reforming for summer concerts this year
• And, despite Oasis not reforming, rumours have been circulating but both Gallaghers are busy with their own solo careers.

Those four acts were really the big guns of the Britpop movement others just followed suit.

That being the case it would be fitting to have a band that bring the 90’s to now. ‘Parka Monkeys – Live Band Indie Disco!’ will be performing a medley of well known indie recent and archive releases at The Continental pub – South Meadow Lane – Preston on Sunday April 30th 2023 from 8pm -11pm.
