It’s the inevitable scene at a family wedding, the embarrassing dad brings out his killer dance moves in an effort to relive his youth.

He gets a small following around him and this invites other senior ones to get up and dance.

But it’s not just the older generation that like the old school music. Young people are being introduced to the sounds your parents were listening to and they’re finding it both relatively ‘cool’ and apparently ‘sick’.

On Sunday February 12th 2023 The Continental Pub on South Meadow Lane Preston is opening it’s doors to ‘Shake Yer Hips! – from 2pm – 8pm.

It will cover a wide variety of genres, including –

• R&B
• 60s Soul
• Mod
• Ska
• Motown
• Northern Soul

By a formidable host of DJs- Dave Hamer – Steve Wilde – Ronnie Brown – Jimmy Noble.

It’s £5 entry on the door.
