Turner Prize 2022

Turner Prize 2022

Dates: 20 Oct 2022 - 20 Mar 2023

Location: Tate Liverpool

Joseph Mallord William Turner was an English romantic painter, printmaker and watercolourist. He made a living out of creating expressive colourisations, imaginative landscapes and turbulent, often violent marine paintings.

It seems appropriate then that an art ceremony is given in his name. In fact the location for the prestigious prize is close to the docks where he may have been inspired to create his marine work.

The Turner Prize is returning to Tate Liverpool from 20th October 2022 – 19th March 2023.  Take a look at this 2 minute 10 second preview by Louise Shannon- Head of Programme Delivery at Tate Liverpool as a prelude to the event:-

Tate Liverpool is closed on Monday but is open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 5.50pm.  Details of the artists shortlisted for the ceremony can be found at the following website link - https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-liverpool/turner-prize-2022

Celebrate these original artists by attending the Tate Liverpool on the dates mentioned above.
