Howl Blackburn 2022

Howl Blackburn 2022

Dates: 17 Sep 2022 - 17 Sep 2022

Location: King George's Hall - Blackburn

The Preston bus station seems an unlikely location for a series of motivated people to holler at the top of their voices in response to their frustration and fury of the recent pandemic. You’re more likely to hear that kind of commotion on a busy Friday night in town.

However, it happened. It was the conceptual piece of art devised by artist and lecturer Jamie Holman. It had it’s origins in the late fourteenth century and has been modernised for a contemporary audience.

Take a look at what happened as inspiring individuals screamed to be heard… Now, Jamie is working on the next HOWL. It will take place at Blackburn’s King Georges Hall on Saturday 17th September from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

With reports of an uncertain winter and the state of the world collapsing all around us there’s plenty to howl about.

The project has been commissioned as part of Lancashire Encounters Festival 2022. It is free to attend but you will need to register. To book tickets simply go to the following website link - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/howl-tickets-410319214817

Participants will also receive a small fee for taking an active role in the event.

The event is best described in these moving words –

“When we gather, we become powerful. When we HOWL, we are heard.”
