Comebacks can either sink or swim. When The Stone Roses briefly reformed in 2011 their reunion was short-lived having scheduled to perform three major gigs, a couple of new singles and a film set during their iconic 1990 Spike Island show plus further new material in 2016 the band split once again in 2019.
However, when Welsh rock act Manic Street Preachers found themselves in a lonely place following the disappearance of guitarist Richey Edwards in February 1995, many felt this was the end of the band. Yet when ‘Design for Life’ was released on 15th April 1996 it was the song that saved the band as they came back as rock trio. The single got to number two on the UK Singles Chart and it preceded the 20th May 1996 fourth record ‘Everything Must Go’ which had many of Richey’s lyrics indelibly left in his absence.
Another promising comeback is soon arriving. Liverpool band The Zutons enjoyed commercial success with Valerie and Why Won’t You Give Me Your Love? In the early part of the 21st Century.
Now the band are set to light up the stage once again following a decade out of the spotlight. They’ll be playing a set at The Grand venue in Clitheroe on Friday 3rd June 2022.
Tickets are priced £22.50 and are available to book from the following website link:-https://www.thegrandvenue.co.uk/events/the-zutons/
You’ll also find out information as to what all the members have been up since their break from the band.
This could be potentially one of the biggest comebacks in many years. Show your support by being there and applauding their fantastic songs.
