Lancashire Fringe - NoMad

Lancashire Fringe - NoMad

Dates: 03 May 2022 - 03 May 2022

Location: The Continental Pub - South Meadow Lane - Preston

A sudden decline in a person’s mental health could begin by losing their job and becoming homeless. These two factors often spiral a person into depression and other serious mental health issues.

This can often lead to a stay in a mental health hospital for a period of  time in order for the patient to receive vital care, medication and long term support to gradually integrate back into society with a more positive outcome.

The outline of the above scenario is fact and occurs on a frequent basis for a sadly a lot of people. However, a play part of Lancashire Fringe - NoMad will recreate the activities of a mental health sufferer written and performed by Nell Hardy.

The play is free and will take place this coming Tuesday 3rd May 2022 from 8pm -9pm at The Continental pub - South Meadow Lane - Preston.

There are no graphic depictions during the show, but there is some strong language and there are mentions of homelessness, rough sleeping, domestic abuse, dissociation, restrictive eating/drinking and attempted suicide.

Performances of NoMad are delivered in a relaxed atmosphere. The show has captions that can be delivered through a projector.

London Theatre 1 gave it four stars calling it :-

“A challenging and engrossing production that leaves no stone unturned.”

This is a dizzying, poetic journey through one woman’s true experience of homelessness and mental health hospitalisation. It couldn’t be further from the harsh reality a portion of us  may experience at some point in our lives.
