A Fine Kettle of Fish

A Fine Kettle of Fish

Dates: 14 Jan 2022 - 27 Mar 2022

Location: HOME- Creative Arts Venue - Manchester

Two years ago the country was held in suspense as the dawn of the pandemic unleashed itself on an unsuspected public domain. We were grappled by fear and uncertainty about our lives and our future both for ourselves and our children.

However, the nation became resilient. We fought back, we got stronger, we even developed our skills in the workplace to become more efficient and to channel our career in the right direction.

Parham Ghalamdar is a painter and animator in Manchester. He specialises in oil painting with a background in graffiti and public art. He studied MA Painting at Manchester School of Art. Since the National Lockdown in 2020 he has been expanding his painting practice into the digital realm by making stop-motion animations and AI-generated works.

Take a look at this forty second clip of  the work he creates:-
Since 14th January 2022 Parham has been exhibiting a brand new series of paintings at HOME Manchester - Granada Foundation Galleries on Level 1 and 2.

‘A Fine Kettle of Fish’ is running until Sunday 27th March 2022 and seeks to explore the relationship between chaos and order, presence and absence, life and death, painting and digital.

The oil paintings themselves are heavily influenced by the sugar coated and acidic colour palettes of graffiti, echoing back to his time as a graffiti artist in Tehran.
