Festival Freedom Pass - Ribble Valley Jazz Festival 2022

The definition of jazz is described this way:-

 

A type of music of black American origin which emerged at the beginning of the 20th century, characterized by improvisation, syncopation, and usually a regular or forceful rhythm. Brass and woodwind instruments and piano are particularly associated with jazz, although guitar and occasionally violin are also used; styles include Dixieland, swing, bebop, and free jazz.

 

With these diverse range of instruments and unique sound it would be fitting that an event helped to celebrate the genre. 

 

The Ribble Valley Jazz Festival 2022 kick starts on Friday 29th April. Other events are taking place throughout the four days but on the Friday the live music is located at The Grand venue in Clitheroe. 

 

The opening show will feature award winning Scottish vocalist Georgia Cecile with Alison Raynor Quintet and K.O.G. on Saturday 30th April- International Jazz Day. On the finale on Monday the Northern Jazz Orchestra will showcase a fantastic end to the festival
