Buzzcocks

Popular music television shows in the 1970’s were aimed at a youthful audience. It was prior to the new romantic movement so a series of punk bands often dominated the programme. 

 

Top of the Pops was watched by millions, it was at a prime time slot but  some punk bands may have felt   out of place performing in a studio where some acts were known to mime and to pretend to play instruments.

 

Buzzcocks were known for creating iconic performances. Here they are with their 1978 hit ‘Ever fallen in love (with someone you shouldn’t’ve):-

In the modern era Buzzcocks prefer more intimate settings and their career is no doubt a reflection of their early incarnation when they started out playing in pubs. 

 

On Wednesday March 9th 2022 Buzzcocks will be playing a superb set at The Ferret on Fylde Road - Preston. The band will be on stage from 7pm till 11pm.
