Flesh and Text Private Viewing

Theatre work should be celebrated, especially if it has a unique angle in creating subversive performances for the audience. 

 

Since 1992 a groundbreaking theatre production team called Bodies in Flight  has been fascinating the public with it’s original live theatre, political references and audience participation. It has collaborated with communities from all over the world and staged events in unusual locations, with the audience always concluding, no two shows are ever the same. 

 

On Thursday 3rd March 2022 you can experience ‘Flesh and Text Private Viewing’, taking place between the hours of 4pm - 7pm. Admission is completely free.

 

This is a new exhibition celebrating 30 years of performances by Bodies in Flight. It will be a retrospective collection of work showcasing  immersive theatre which has frequently ripped apart the conventional trend between performer, audience and place. 

 

It constitutes 27 performances in a captivating exhibition to be held at the PR1 Gallery space at UCLAN to explore Bodies in Flight’s work through presentation, photographs and videos. 

 

The private viewing event will host a series of discussions with Bodies in Flight’s founders and will share the most recent contribution to their archive - Life Class:Preston. This group collaborated with both The Preston People Choir and Fever Dance. 

 

Free refreshments will be available serving both tea and coffee and a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
