Bootleg Blondie

In 1974 an American new wave punk rock band came onto the scene  and remained so for over 40 years. 

 

Fronted by the charismatic Debbie Harry, Blondie dominated the charts with songs such as:-

Following the release of 1982 album ‘The Hunter’ the band went their separate ways. However Debbie pursued a solo career and the band experienced a resurgence in their music when they reformed in 1997. 

 

This followed with a number one single in 1999 with, ‘Maria’ exactly 20 years after their first UK No. 1 single ‘Heart of Glass’. 

 

Two years later a tribute act emerged which honoured the look and sound of Blondie in their heyday. ‘Bootleg Blondie’ was born in 2001.

On Saturday 26th March 2022 you can experience Bootleg Blondie appearing at The Grand venue in Clitheroe with doors opening at 7pm.

The original Blondie were finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. They have sold around 40 million records worldwide and still remain as one of  punk rock  music’s greatest imports.  Upon the release of their eleventh studio album ‘Pollinator’ on May 5th 2017 they thanked Bootleg Blondie as the world’s No. 1 official tribute act.
