Crafts Council - We Gather

You should never underestimate the power of the ethnic origin. They have the ability to create wonderful works of art and as a forthcoming exhibition reveals there is so much more to discover about the history of these talented women. 
 
‘Crafts Council - We Gather’ is set to put on display the work of five female artists of Black and Asian heritage. Whilst their chosen materials and disciplines vary, their work shares a commitment to craft, it’s cultural value. 
 
This exhibition is running now until 5th February 2022 from 11am till 5pm located at Crafts Council Gallery, 44A Pentonville Road, Islington, London. 
 
It comes with the announcement of Make!Craft!Live! A season of events that will mark the Craft Council’s 50th anniversary and celebrate the value of craft to empower, enrich and connect our society. 
 
The artists featured include - 
  • Birmingham based Shaheen Ahmed
  • East Sussex Lorna Hamilton - Brown 
  • British - Sudanese Omeima Mudawi - Rowling
  • Ghanaian- born Francisca Onumah
  • London based Onome Otite
