The Highest Point Festival

What does a famous musician do who has been at the top of his game in the indie chart 1990’s and 21st Century era? He only appeals to the masses even more by doing a local gig headlining the opening night of next year’s Highest Point Festival!

 

You could say it’s a ‘Bittersweet’ moment for Richard Ashcroft as the popular Lancaster event was pushed back to September this year due to the pandemic but in 2022 it  will take place on May 12th - 14th and interested ones can expect a fun weekend of live music, street food and craft beer. 

 

Announcing the headliner, a spokesperson for the festival said, 

 

“We are absolutely delighted to announce that Richard Ashcroft will headline the opening night of Highest Point Festival on Thursday 12th May 2022 at Williamson Park, Lancaster. The former Verve front man will make his Lancaster debut playing tracks from his latest album, ‘Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1!”. 

 

This year’s event saw a string of established live acts such as Becky Hill, Sophie - Ellis Bextor, Ella Eyre, James and Rag N Bone Man.  The 2022 festival hopes to replicate the same buzz with music ranging from:-

The live music will be set high in the beautiful 54- acre park in the shadows of the city’s 150-foot Ashton Memorial, as crowds gather to see views over Morecombe Bay, the rolling Lake District fells.
