In her youth she was able to capture an audience with her songs about   social and philosophical ideals as well as her feelings on romance, womanhood, disillusionment and joy. 
 
She channelled her musical talents on a wide range of genres from folk to pop to rock, classical and even jazz. 
 
As she nears her 80th Joni Mitchell is a testament of a true music icon and although she may not be as on top as her younger self she is still able to influence a series of musicians who can replicate her original sound. 
 
It was her 1974 best selling  album ‘Court and Spark’ that gave the name to a band that consist of five of the North West’s most established musicians to celebrate the wonderful music of Joni Mitchell.
