A Celebration of Simon and Garfunkel

“Hello darkness, my old friend

I've come to talk with you again

Because a vision softly creeping

Left its seeds while I was sleeping

And the vision that was planted in my brain

Still remains

Within the sound of silence”. 

 

Did the those words from the classic 1965 single ‘Sound of Silence’ ring true during the height of the pandemic? Likely. I think we all felt down at some stage during the numerous lockdowns and periods of isolation from friends and family.

 

Even though we’re not totally out of the woods we are able to meet together in pubs and enjoy evenings out. This allows to let go of the shackles of our own homes and appreciate good quality live music. 

 

On Friday 19th November 2021 you can experience ‘A Celebration of Simon and Garfunkel’. 

 

Although not the real thing and far from being a tribute act, professional North West musicians Tim Chu and Ian Bailey perfect the classic sound of the American legends by their acute sense of hearing the original duo. 

 

They have performed their own material in the past yet now they are able to replicate the unique sound of Simon and Garfunkel’s most memorable tunes.

 

You can watch them live at The Continental pub, South Meadow Lane, Preston with doors opening at the venue 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start.

There are no costumes, wigs or make up! Just two great musicians producing an ambient collection of some of Simon and Garfunkel’s much loved hits.
