Exhibition to honour Preston photographer

Exhibition to honour Preston photographer

Dates: 06 Dec 2021 - 29 Jan 2022

Location: The Larder - Lancaster Road - Preston

It takes a special person to really capture a city in all it’s glory. In his short life, professional photographer Tony Worrall was able to highlight the artistic interpretation of Preston city centre that saw him collect a series of images in the form of  sunsets, sunrises, streets, parks and buildings.

He was very passionate about his home city, Preston, and that was clearly depicted in the images he took. Tony sadly passed away this year on Thursday June 10th at the young age of 61 at his home in Ashton on Ribble.

Throughout his working life he was the co-editor and regular contributer to Blog Preston. Organisers have thought carefully how they could honour this great man and the work he did in the Lancashire region.

An exhibition, therefore in tribute to Tony will be displayed in The Larder on Lancaster Road.

Ed Walker, founder of Blog Preston expressed these sentiments in response to the forthcoming exhibition,

“We felt the least we could do was ensure Tony’s photographic legacy lived on. I hope these pictures show Tony’s talent that so many of us admired and appreciated in the best possible light. The city is poorer without his fantastic pictures showing the light and shade of a proud Preston on a daily basis”.

The exhibition will run from Monday 6th December 2021- Saturday 29th January 2022 and is free to attend. The launch event for the exhibition will take place on Saturday 11th December from 1pm -3pm and all those who personally knew Tony or enjoyed his pictures are invited to come along.

Tony was a prolific and very talented photographer - capturing the city from all angles. He built up a large portfolio of images with over 78,000 pictures on photo-sharing website Flickr. This is clearly seen in the amazing legacy he leaves behind at the following website link:
