Every couple of years a fantastic event graces the stage in the East Lancashire region. British Textile Biennial is returning for another cultured exhibition from Friday 1st - 31st October 2021.
Set against the backdrop of the impressive infrastructure of the cotton industry in Pennine Lancashire the focus for this year’s event will be on the global nature of textiles and the relationships they create.
Expect the following as you view the work of these established artists:-
- A major new commission by Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid
- Fashion historian Amber Butchart as guest curator
- A groundbreaking, sustainable fashion project with designer Patrick Grant
- A collaboration with artist James Fox and actress Maxine Peake
