Oasis Knebworth 1996.

In the mid- 1990s the UK was immersed in the popular indie culture - Britpop. A series of successful bands came out of that movement but it was one particular group that paved the way for others to follow. 

 

Oasis were undoubtedly a well renowned band. Their major influence was The Beatles and this was brought out perhaps more in their album artwork and lyrical wit than their music. 

 

Riding high off their second album offering 1995’s (‘What’s the Story) Morning Glory’ the band toured the record and in the following year they were ‘familiar to millions’. 

 

On Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th September Preston’s Vue Cinema are screening the rock and roll documentary Oasis Knebworth 1996. This films recalls the pinnacle of Oasis’ illustrious career and an ideal opportunity to relive the legendary Hertfordshire concerts on their 25th anniversary. 

 

The film is directed by Grammy Award -winner Jake Scott and reveals the perspective of the concert from the fans who lived through it. Filmgoers will get lost in the euphoria of one of the most iconic live concert events in music history.
