Picnic in the Park

If you’re a parent with young children you’ll be looking for something to keep them entertained over the summer holidays. An enjoyable event has been planned to cater for such needs. 

 

Astley Park in Chorley are staging their annual Picnic in the Park event this coming Sunday 15th August. It is free to attend and Chorley Council have work closely with some fantastic local acts to bring a day to remember for all the family. 

 

The fun starts at 11am and concludes at 3pm. Young ones can enjoy the appearance of Louby Lou the Clown as well Beatrix Potter favourite - Peter Rabbit.

There will also be arts and crafts involvement and additional entertainment in the walled garden.

 

Alistair Bradley, Leader of Chorley Council encourages all to stay along after it closes, 

 

“If you don’t want your fun to end at 3pm, why not check out the fabulous Market Walk  where you can find a raft of entertainment venues including a cinema, ten pin bowling and adventure golf”. 

 

Please note - anyone driving to Picnic in the Park is being encouraged to be considerate of the residents of Astley Village and make use of Park and Ride facilities which will be available.
