The Collective Weekender

In comparison with other major cities such as Liverpool and Manchester, Preston has a lot to live up to. Yet you may be surprised to discover what fantastic artistic abilities these folk really have!
A new free four-day creative arts festival is set to showcase Preston talent and encourage everybody to take part in the arts.
Simply called, “The Collective Weekender”, scheduled to take place from September 9th -12th and organised by The Brewtime Collective, an independent group of creative practitioners working in the city.
It is designed by the people of Preston, for the people of Preston with the overall aim to showcase the quintessential local talent in the field of the arts covering 20 individual events.

The performance isn’t too restrictive either it can take the form of:-
- With an audience
- In a venue
- A pop - up in a high street shop
- A workshop
- A talk
- A reading
It can be whatever the creative practitioner wants it to be. All performance based events will take place at The Larder on Lancaster Road.
The project experienced a couple of setbacks due to the pandemic but now they hope to reinvigorate the city with this brilliant showcase of the creative talent in Preston.
Shirley Bailey, project manager and member of the The Brewtime Collective encourages all to have a go,
“Preston’s independent creatives are invited to submit proposals for quality art happenings, performances, installations and pop-ups that are characteristic of their practice and great fun for fellow creatives and audiences to experience”.

The Brewtime Collective is a self organised network of independent artists, activists, cultural practitioners and influencers that have been meeting regularly since 2019. They are extremely passionate about the arts, creativity and culture in Preston:-
