With life finally reaching some level of normality soon it would be good to see a return of live music. 
 
On Wednesday 14th July 2021 you can experience ‘Jazz at the Social’ (At Market Street Social) in Preston city centre. The jazz inspired music kicks off at 7pm- 10.10pm and these professional musicians have certainly garnered a fine reputation with some notable acts.
 
The band consists of the following people:-
  • Caroline Boaden (Drums)
  • Gary Culshaw ( Bass) 
  • Paul Killington ( Keys)
  • Special guest appearance from Harold Salisbury on Saxophone.
Drummer Caroline is very good on the skins. Having performed with a range of jazz artists she can also name drop working with Take That, The Stylistics and Texas. She is a senior lecturer in drums at Leeds Conservatoire. 
 
Bass player Gary is a qualified teacher at LIPPA, Leeds College of Music and Liverpool University. He has worked with some top people in the world of jazz and he was also a part of Mike Gibbs’ Creative Jazz Orchestra performing works by Mark Anthony Turnage. 
 
Keyboard player Paul Kilvington has toured all over the world and has worked with established artists including Cathy Dennis. He can diversify genres into soul, pop and even musicals. He has appeared on TV shows such as Top of the Pops, Smash Hits Awards and World Music Awards. Within the jazz remit he has performed with well known jazz musicians and he formed the Latin Jazz ensemble Amazonia to perform his own compositions. 
 
Saxophone player Harold Salisbury is a veteran at his craft. Having worked in the music sector for over 70 years, he is a treasured figure in Preston for his work with Free Parking.
