I’m sure you’d agree that last year was  a real  nightmare we were all exposed to. Yet out of this fearful era in medical history came a moment of creativity and change for new and already existing artists. 
 
‘Making a Mark’ had a sabbatical in 2020 due to the pandemic yet it is back for 2021 with social distancing in mind. 
 
This is an exciting creative day out for all the family. It will take place on Saturday 17th July from 11am till 4pm on the Preston Flag Market. Cost of admission is completely free. 
 
Here is a summary of some  the featured artists involved:-
  • Caroline Finnigan and Evelyn Rose - Interactive fabrics and textiles installation
  • Tim Saunders - Developing the theme of carbon emissions in a changing world
  • Denise Swanson - Capturing the day on still image
  • Bernice Velvick - ArtFull - Various arts and crafts activities under a parasol
  • Worldwise Samba Drummers - Performance on the Flag Market and also leading the parade
  • Winston Plowes - Delivering Word Lab - an interactive poetry installation with audience participation
  • Paul O’ Hara - Delivering a large - scale installation with a car and caravan, to show patterns in a changing world
  • Hodge Podge - An interactive danced and sound performance to show how audience decisions affect outcomes.
There will be plenty of things to see do and take away with you.

  • Globe sculpture with visitor participation

  • Performance through monologues reflecting a changing world 
  • Changing worlds installation

  • Visual arts collages of changing world as postcards
  • Spoken word performance 
  • Textile art showing feminism evolution. 

Whether you’re a professional or a novice artist, there are marks to be made by everyone.
