The Lancashire Photography Festival

The Lancashire Photography Festival

Dates: 01 Apr 2021 - 22 May 2021

Location: Preston City Centre

When you think of solitary confinement nothing can be more distressing than what the past year has presented to us. The images of those that sadly caught the virus, the NHS staff battling to save lives and the heroes that made 2020 a year to remember.

So if you consider the closeness to some form of reality it’s only a mere 7 weeks before the world  resumes  a way of life we can cope with. The images then will be scenes of jubilation, friends and loved ones hugging and shaking hands and the atmosphere of pubs, cafés and restaurants will be alive once again.

That time frame is the same period an exciting event is coming to the streets of Preston city centre.  The Lancashire Photography Festival will take place from this Friday 2nd April - Sunday 23rd May from 12noon. It’s free to attend just come with an open mind about how you perceive photography.

Some of the work includes:-
  • John Davies - at a stand alone installation on Winckley Square.
  • Peter Dench - whose work is described as bold and brash. It will be displayed on the hoardings of the former BHS building on Fishergate high street.
  • Preston Markets will share work by dozens of local photographers.
  • Blackpool Sixth Form students
  • Preston Photographic Society
This  will be an ideal opportunity to celebrate the work of the local Lancashire talent.
