Lancashire Encounter 2021
Dates: 16 Sep 2021 - 18 Sep 2021
Location: Preston City Centre
This year Preston would have staged a number of notable events in the city centre. Ranging from the anti racist youth performances to the fun and dance of the Caribbean carnival.
The COVID-19 pandemic meant that these events couldn’t go ahead and yet another one was forced to cancel which usually takes place biennially.
The very first Lancashire Encounter Festival took place in 2015 as a pilot model. It brought in artists and community based activities which drew in 20,000 attendees.
The success of the demo one meant organisers could carry it forward every couple of years.
This September would have been it’s return to Preston which would have been the highlight of the year for many people. Circumstances have meant it had to be postponed but it’s making a welcome return next year.
Please book this in your diary - Friday 17th - Sunday 19th September 2021 where the streets of Preston will be aligned with music, arts, dance and creativity.
The following video will give you an exclusive preview as to what’s in store:-
