STAR - Racism Event

~Inspiring speeches, captivating music, dance and drama and a receptive audience that appreciated the message of hope and solidarity amidst a world of conflicting race.

They were just some of the thoughts that would best describe last years ‘ STAR’ event ( Stand Together Against Racism) in which local schools united to perform and deliver well rehearsed pieces that were  centred around the continual fight against racism.

For the past three years this has been an annual event each March in which people from different sectors from the community come together. These range from the Lancashire Youth Vocal Ensemble - Preston Youth Council.

In addition you can also attend the Community Day on  Saturday 18th March from 11am - 3pm. There you can experience a choir led by Preston and Western Lancashire Racial Equality and Diversity Council. As well as a whole diverse section of performing artists who will represent specific cultures in Preston and a variety of stalls from community groups and organisations.

We can look back in another year and reflect on what a triumph the 2017  STAR  event was. You’ll have personal memories yourself. Perhaps you know someone who has been bullied by the colour of their skin. Attending STAR therefore will impress on your heart even more so.
