"An Education Event Celebrating Best Practice with Technology"
Organised in conjunction with Essa Academy and the Bolton School, Learning with iPad is a special full-day education event. The day is free-to-attend, and open to all local schools and education institutions.
On the 8th March, you will have the opportunity to hear from Abdul Chohan (Director of Development, Essa Academy) and Nic Ford (Deputy Headteacher, Bolton School) in a unique joint presentation exploring the power of mobile technology to transform classrooms and learning spaces.
Essa Academy and the Bolton School are two very different schools, each with their own impactful success story to tell about the transformational power of mobile technology. Over the last few years, each school has embraced mobile technology and radically changed teaching and learning, increasing student engagement and attainment. They have now been certified Apple Distinguished Schools, recognised for their innovative and transformative use of mobile technology in the classroom.

Workshops
Our workshops are led by practitioners, experts and Apple Distinguished Educators, covering essential topics in mobile technology. You will have the opportunity to attend each workshop during the event.
There is an optional Deploying iPad session aimed at technical coordinators, technicians and anyone who manages Apple devices in a school environment. This will provide an exhaustive overview of the deployment tools available, best practice and current technical recommendations.

Apple Teacher Certification

This session will focus on a series of Professional Development courses that allow teachers to integrate technology and pedagogy in an effective way. This is an accredited course that will provide the Apple Teacher Certification.

Coding with Swift
with Zainab Patel (Apple Distinguished Educator and Regional Training Centre Manager)
This workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to coding with Swift, the programming language used in many of the most popular apps available today. No prior coding knowledge is required, and you will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the teaching tools available.
