Mental Health In Sport Workshop
Dates: 21 Feb 2017 - 21 Feb 2017
Location: Nick Park Room 1st Floor Students Union UCLAN
~Some of us may have gone to University with the prospect of achieving well academically. We may have considered joining all the social groups and enrichment activities. Or we may have even thought of doing an additional degree after four year’s studying. All of the above are feasible but what happens if an unexpected mental health problem occurs along the way.
On Tuesday February 21st 2017 from 11am - 1pm a mental health in sport workshop is taking place. Primarily aimed at Sports and Society Committee members and Team Captains, although the subject matter is addressed to all students across the University.
It’s in conjunction with BUCS and Student Minds with a series of workshops designed to discuss the impact of poor mental health on students and to discuss approaches to assisting team mates, course mates and friends.
The workshop is informal and is an opportunity to discuss all aspects of mental health and to share information on signposting for UCLan students.
It will take place in the Nick Park Room, the 1st floor of the Students’ Union. Capacity is limited to 15 so pleaser book early to avoid disappointment. You can book your place by emailing :- suteam@uclan.ac.uk
Learning and discussing matters of a mental health nature, particularly in sport can help us appreciate the daily struggle many who have such debilitating problems have to deal with and the resilience and determination to overcome it must be respected and commended.
