Winter Solstice Walk

~A week on Wednesday marks the shortest day of the year and what better way to celebrate it than to have a two hour walk through Avenham and Miller Park on South Meadow Lane Preston.

Yes the organisers at Preston Parks have shelved 10 - 12noon on Wednesday 21st December 2016 to take interested ones across these landmark parks of Preston.

In total you will walk approximately 3.5 miles and the walk will take you  through Preston Junction Nature Reserve which will highlight some local areas of interest.

Please note  some essentials for the morning :-

* A pair of sturdy boots as the ground will be muddy.

* Sufficient funds  to enjoy a hot chocolate and mince pie  in the local café after the walk.

The cost of the walk itself however is free.
