In 1926 a boy was born into the world that would grow to a man. A man who would spend his entire adult life in the natural world. In his years in television creating ground-breaking nature documentaries nothing comes close to this next and potentially final chapter in his life.

David Attenborough became 100 yesterday. It was a celebration for a broadcaster and a pro-active human being who has been at the forefront of nature programmes for decades. We have literally grown up around him and so have your parents.

However, there is serious business to attend to. Back when he was 93 he created a documentary which spoke to the heart of those who care about this world and the dangers of the future. He presented a warning, a warning that we should all take into consideration that this planet is on the brink of disaster. If human beings act now, this planet can be saved and he wants to reassure viewers that we’ll be alright long after he’s gone.
