Often when people hear the words ‘tying the knot’ they relate it to weddings, a joyful time for two people to declare their love for each other.

However, this film version of an award winning play takes on a completely different meaning to the opening statement.

Certain Curtain Theatre Company are delighted to bring their celebrated film of the play ‘The Knot’.

Winner of a BBC Alfred Bradley Special Award for verse drama, this fast moving drama fuses with black humour to present a powerful story of one family’s refusal to confront the knot of secrecy that is slowly choking it to death…leading to the explosive confrontation that will finally unravel The Knot.

This narrative is designed to bring home a heavy reality that is sadly on the increase. The screening is hosting some Free and ‘Pay what you can’ events across Lancashire to raise awareness of domestic abuse and of the support available for victim/survivors and your connections could make all the difference.

The screening will be accompanied by a short Q&A Contains strong language. Not suitable for children under 14.
