It’s all very well to accolade and celebrate international stars of the cinematic world at the start of the year but what about local filmmakers who are at the grassroots of their community creating new and engaging films that challenge and provoke, question and visualize by their own imaginative way of storytelling.

The Ferret – 55 Fylde Road – Preston is welcoming the creatively inclined into the pub from Thursday 25th – Tuesday 30th June for ‘North West Independent Film Festival 2026’.

Now in its second year, NWIFF is a celebration of British short films from all over the UK, with a curated programme of screenings taking place in June in Preston.
