Hit musicals are known for having less dialogue between the actors and actresses and more reliance on the songs that carry the narrative throughout the duration of the story.

The songs need to be infectious, fun and memorable so that the audience can recall it long after they have seen it.

Musicals based on books and films must tread carefully to be accurate to the original source yet have a fresh take on the story with the songs that will feed throughout the production.

‘Freaky Friday’ has already been a hit on the big screen and is now a new musical. It started it’s run on Thursday 27th November and will continue to Saturday 10th January 2026 at HOME – Manchester.
