Celebrating Eva - The Songbook of Eva Cassidy
Dates: 07 Dec 2025 - 07 Dec 2025
Location: The Continental Pub - South Meadow Lane - Preston
Eva Cassidy was not just an accomplished guitarist but also a beautiful singer whose voice sang in harmony with her melodic guitar playing.
This month marks 29 years since her passing and at just 33 she could have a wonderful illustrious career in music but ill health took the better of her.
Thankfully we still have her music and her cover versions were timeless classics. For example the Sting version of ‘Fields of Gold’ was so lovely yet she made it her own in true Eva Cassidy style.
Let’s remind ourselves of her interpretation –
Almost thirty years since we lost her, a tribute artist is performing a rendition of her songs. ‘Celebrating Eva – The Songbook of Eva Cassidy’ – Sunday December 7th 2025 – 7pm -10pm.
A moving acoustic celebration of one of the most beloved voices of the last century, featuring classic hits from the Eva songbook, brought to life by vocalist Helen May (vocals/guitar) and Nick Cornall on piano.
Expect a show of pure musical beauty, with jazz, soul and timeless ballads.

‘You’ll remember her when the west wind moves,
Upon the field of barley,
You’ll forget the sun in his jealous sky,
As we walk in fields of gold’
