It’s hard to imagine that a DeLorean car, a mad scientist and a high school kid would still be the most talked about movie franchise of the 1980’s.

Yes, Back to the Future has reached a 40th year anniversary milestone and to celebrate it’s coming back to the big screen.

In 2007, the United States Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry. In the aftermath of part three Universal Studios launched a multimedia franchise which includes the following –

• Theme park rides
• An animated television series
• A stage musical

 Its enduring popularity has prompted numerous books about its production, documentaries, and commercials.

Fans of the franchise have stayed loyal to the promise set by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale – there will never be a part 4. Instead, cherish the classic trio of movies especially the first which set the tone for the following two.
