Family Film / Jumanji

In 1981 a children’s picture book by Chris Van Allsburg became the inspiration for a 1995 American fantasy adventure film directed by Joe Johnston.

Jumanji was a classic of its time and is still talked about three decades later thanks to a rejuvenation in the franchise due to a couple of updated sequels which take a modern day computer game concept of the original board game movie.

It starred the late Robin Williams and later films gave an affectionate tribute to the starring role. It was a box office hit at the time of its release and it’s celebrating its 30th anniversary.
