Rhinestone Cowboy - The Story of Glen Campbell
Dates: 22 Nov 2025 - 22 Nov 2025
Location: Darwen Library Theatre
Stars of stage and screen have been struck by Alzheimer’s disease. In recent years we’ve learnt about television presenter Fiona Philip’s battle with it. Eastenders’ fan favourite Barbara Windsor lost her battle with it in 2020.
Celebrated country star Glen Campbell made her name for himself with his singalong classics but he stepped down from the spotlight when he was diagnosed with Alzeheimer’s disease in 2011 and retired in 2013 after recording his final song, ‘I’m not gonna miss you’. He died from the disease on August 8th 2017 at the age of 81.
However, far from a sombre departing, a celebration of his life and the songs that were the soundtrack of our lives – Rhinestone Cowboy – The Story of Glen Campbell – captures the memories and music of this timeless artist. It all takes place at Darwen Library Theatre – Friday 21st November 2025 – 7.30pm start. Tickets are available to book from the following website link –
