Superman

Dates: 29 Aug 2025 - 29 Aug 2025

Location: Dukes - Lancaster

Some may argue that there was really only one Superman – the late Christopher Reeve. He starred in the 1978 original and the following sequels. When Reeve had a near fatal accident making him paralysed from the waist down he became a real Superman – fighting proof of his resilience and the belief that he was a hero to the bitter end.

Now director James Gunn takes on the mantle for a new interpretation which even features Krypto the superdog. It is be featured at Williamson Park Lancaster as part of Sunset Screenings for an amazing cinematic experience. Shown on Friday 29th August – 8.30pm.

Tickets are available to book from the following website link –

Christopher Reeve remained a hero after his accident, becoming an advocate for spinal injury research leading the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and co-founding the Reeve-Irvine Research Centre. He championed better insurance coverage for people with disabilities and human embryonic stem cell research. So although he no longer had the physical strength, he still had the mental super powers that stayed with him long after his stint as the iconic superhero.
