There are a certain number of movies that came out in the 1980’s that remain classics to the present day. Think ‘Back to the Future’, ‘The Neverending Story’ and ‘The Goonies’.

The latter was the stuff of childhood dreams and is a wonderful tale of youth and the journey of imagination they go on.

The Goonies is now 40 years old and is still an undeniable masterpiece from start to finish. It captures everything a child wants to experience and the friends that follow them on uncovering treasure.

Now 4 decades on it’s returning to cinemas and will be featured at The Dukes – Lancaster from Friday 15th – Sunday 17th August 2025. Tickets are available to book from the following website link –

The original cast are all grown up now so talk of a sequel back in February of this year could be intriguing. For now though, enjoy the wonderment of The Goonies.
