Watching a musical on a film is a one dimensional experience. You may get the gist of the story and enjoy the songs in a relatively mild way but it doesn’t come alive at you as the director intended.

However, attending a theatrical musical is a completely different and more engaging live show. You see the performance made beautiful and if the songs can carry it, you become absorbed till the very end.
