In the 1980’s dance music was at the very grassroots of it’s genre. Prior to the rave scene of the 1990’s it had a very basic simplistic feel which gave everybody a great time.

One British record producer and musician that came along during this time was Gerald Rydel Simpson better known by his stage name ‘A Guy Called Gerald’.

He was a significant contributor to 808 State and formed his own solo success with 1988 hit single ‘Voodoo Ray’.

Now nearly 40 years later he is destined to settle his quest to bring the quintessential dance sounds of the modern era to The Continental pub – South Meadow Lane – Preston this coming Friday July 18th 2025 – 7pm – 11.45pm.

He’ll also be joined by professional DJs Tony Cannon and Nick Almond.
