~Because of the new environment, the added pressure and the big transitional from a college classroom many young people find the whole experience of University overwhelming. For some it could mean missing lectures, for others it could be much more serious.
Symptoms of depression could begin leading to much greater mental health problems and in some circumstances a complete withdrawal from the entire course.
Next Monday ( 10th October 2016) is World Mental Health Day and the Students Union at UCLAN, Preston are putting on a Students Minds workshop session from 12noon till 1.30pm
It is designed for those in the Sports Club and Society Committee and is aimed to discuss certain mental health conditions.
It will take place in the Students’ Union Meeting Room 1. To book your place email :- suteam@uclan.ac.uk
Never think you are completely immune from mental illnesses. They can strike at any age and at any point. Sport can reduce mental health symptoms and it’s excellent that the University is targeting this group as they may have reduced feelings of anxiety compared to others.
