Snug Sofa Sessions - The Opening Song

When you first read an advertisement for a band in a local pub you may at first think it could be either thrash metal or indie rock. In fact a forthcoming event is neither and may be the perfect almost conclusion to the working week.

‘Snug Sofa Sessions – The Opening Song’ are performing at The Continental pub on South Meadow Lane – Preston – Thursday April 10th 2025 from 8pm -11pm.

This is a project that was formed by Mark Whiteside (One Sided Horse / Evil Blizzard) and Piano player Stuart Mayor.

Mark played some of his songs to Stuart in the hope they could work together on some new material. What came from that is The Opening Song. A duo that bases the music around soundscapes and melody. Creating an intimate jazzy vibe to the music.

If you want to have an evening of chilled delicate music then this is the gig for you. There may be even be an Abba cover thrown in for good measure!

Please note – this is the final Snug Sofa Session of the season and although entrance is free interested ones should note that if you arrive early you’re guaranteed a seat.

So if you prefer a relaxed evening without the raucous sound of rock guitars and heavy drumming then this event is designed just for you.
