
Exhibition - Sunshine, Soca & Spice - 50 Years of Preston Caribbean Carnival

For the past five decades Preston has annually hosted the Caribbean Carnival around spring/summer time. It’s a wonderful parade of colour, fashion and music as locals celebrate the rich diversity of Caribbean culture Preston has to offer.

Since Monday 18th November 2024 – Lancashire Archives – Bow Lane – Preston has been staging an exhibition which collects all the past and recent carnivals into one colourful display.
‘Exhibition – Sunshine, Soca & Spice – 50 Years of Preston Caribbean Carnival’ – will run until Friday 30th May 2025. With costumes on loan from Preston Caribbean Carnival, this exhibition is an explosion of colour and a celebration of the contribution this cherished vibrant carnival is to the cultural landscape of Preston and Lancashire since 1974.
The exhibition is free to attend with visiting hours Monday – Friday – 9.30am – 5pm.
