Martin Kemp - Back to the 80s.

Location: Camp and Furnace - Kerson Works - 67 Greenland Street - Liverpool
Spandau Ballet were one of many pop bands to come out of the 1980’s. A fusion of the new romantic era, synth pop sounds and blue eyed soul. Fronted by Tony Hadley, they went on to have a string of top ten hits from 1979- 1990. The band reformed in 2009 until their ultimate demise in 2019.
It was their third album ‘True’ – March 1983 that became one of their most successful. The title track was an international number one and the follow –up single ‘Gold’ reached number two in the UK and the top five in Belgium, Ireland and Spain.
Let’s remind ourselves of that iconic track in the following music video –
One of the key members of Spandau Ballet was bass player Martin Kemp. He is the younger brother of Gary Kemp and in recent years he has been seen mixing decks instead of kicking bass.
The ultimate gold rewind to forty years ago – Martin Kemp – Back to the 80s. Martin will be playing all those classic tracks from back in the day on Sunday evening – December 29th 2024 – 7pm -11pm at Camp and Furnace – Kerson Works – 67 Greenland Street – Liverpool.
