An Evening with Danny Mcnamara

An Evening with Danny Mcnamara

Dates: 20 Dec 2024 - 20 Dec 2024

Location: Darwen Library Theatre

In the mid 90’s the British music scene was buzzing. We were experiencing a rise in guitar bands not seen since the height of Beatlemania in the 1960’s. This period of music was called ‘Britpop’ – thanks to the wave of indie groups that caused a storm in the pop charts.

It came to an abrupt end in 1997, with a lot of the bands exploring different sounds and changing up their genre as they grew tired of the scene.

By 1998, a series of post – Britpop bands entered the music domain. One of these groups was Embrace. Fittingly so, as they embraced every element of indie they could fit into their sound.

In total they released eight studio albums with 2022’s ‘How to be a person like other people’ their latest offering. But let’s rewind to their debut album which spawned the 27th October 1997 single ‘All You Good Good People’ their most successful single to date and a real crowd pleaser at their concerts. Over twenty years later and fans can get up close and personal with the frontman. An evening with Danny Mcnamara will take place on Friday 20th December 7.30pm start – Darwen Library Theatre. Tickets are available to book from the following website link –https://bwdvenues.com/whats-on/danny-mcnamara-embrace-2024/

He’ll have lots of stories to tell from his early days in the post – Britpop period of music culture.
