Super/Man : The Christopher Reeve Story
Dates: 01 Nov 2024 - 07 Nov 2024
Location: HOME - Arts Venue - Manchester
From 1978-1987 one actor captured the role of an iconic superhero to the infinite detail. He starred in the title role throughout the four series and he left a legacy behind that simply could not be repeated.
Sadly, due to a horse –riding accident in the mid 90’s our hero was left paralyzed from the neck down. However, this didn’t deter him from becoming a real Superman. In fact following his accident he went on to become a leader in spinal cord injuries and spoke openly about disability for the rest of his life until his untimely death at just 52.
It’s now 20 years since we lost a real hero. A new film directed by Ian Bonhote & Peter Ettedgui will shed light on this DC character.
‘Super/Man : The Christopher Reeve Story’ - is a film about resilience in the face adversity, a film about hope and courage and a film that shows how circumstances shape our future in a most unexpected way.
It will be screened at HOME – Arts Venue – Manchester – 01/11/24 - 07/11/24. Tickets are available to book from the following website link – https://homemcr.org/film/super-man-the-christopher-reeve-story/
Blockbuster heroes are short lived but this is a portrait of a true hero who faced his pain and struggles with the most grace and charm in a simply profound way that his family carry his name proudly in their hearts forever.
