The 1980’s and 90’s provided a plethora of synth pop hits from the world’s best -selling bands. One of those bands were Depeche Mode.

They had already won over a series of fans by their simple production in earlier hits such as ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’. But by February 1990, their sound developed. They had become more electronic and a heavily synth producing band.

This is evident in the track ‘Enjoy the silence’. Let’s remind ourselves of that classic hit – 

Now 34 years later their relevance is just as important now as it was back then. In fact they are one of many bands that have influenced a popular event which brings together like minded musicians who share their love of synthesizers.

Far from being silent, ‘ElectroFest 2’ will take place at Sunbird Records, 4 The Circus, Darwen on Saturday 5th October 2024 from 2.30pm.
