You’d assume an alternative rock band called Texas would be home to all the members and perhaps create a grunge like sound.

This is far from the case. Texas, are a Scottish rock band from Glasgow and have formed a loyal fan-base for their infectious songs and pleasant harmonies.

Their most successful album to date is the February 1997 record ‘White on Blonde.’ It was the band’s first number one in their native Scotland and also reached number one in the United Kingdom. It went on to become their biggest seller internationally, selling in excess of four million copies worldwide.

The first single from the album was ‘Say what you want’. It is band’s biggest hit commercially, peaking at number three on the UK Singles Chart.  The accompanying music video released to promote the single shows lead singer Sharleen Spiteri in a futuristic room.

Say what you want about them, but they’ve been at the forefront of popular music for the best part of thirty years and continue to create hit singles going forward into 2025.
