Paul McCartney and Wings: One Hand Clapping
Dates: 03 Oct 2024 - 06 Oct 2024
Location: HOME - Arts Centre - Manchester
After The Beatles demise in 1970, each member carved out their own successful career. Whilst three developed solo work, one of the principal songwriters started a new band and did quite well out of it.
Paul McCartney and Wings was founded in 1971 and they had a string of hit singles and albums. They had a very different sound to The Beatles, more like soft rock.
Their third album ‘Band on the Run’ was released November 1973 and featured the singles ‘Jet’ and the title track. It became the top selling studio album of 1974 in the UK and Australia. It remains McCartney’s most successful album and the most celebrated of his post – Beatles works.
Let’s remind ourselves why it was so good –
Now 50 years later a behind the scenes film captures the group as they create their classic album. ‘Paul McCartney and Wings: One Hand Clapping’ - is being shown at HOME – Arts Centre – 3rd -6th October 2024.
