That Love Thing

Nobody wants to be disabled. Our life circumstances find us in that situation but it’s not something to be mocked at or looked down upon. Some of the greatest minds were disabled yet they overcame their adversity to become a pillar of strength and an inspiration to the world.

For the past two decades writer and actor Peter Keeley has come to terms with his disability but he hasn’t let that prevent him from achieving his goals. He has collected a series of poems and writing over these years to culminate in his own autobiographical theatre show.

Directed by Mike Sheppard, ‘That Love Thing’ sees Peter opening up about his lived experiences as a disabled man and the perceptions he received from the public that gave him the courage to endure.

He’s sharing his story at the HOME – Arts Centre Manchester from Wednesday 20th – Saturday 23rd November 2024.
